He moved to the Cayman Islands in the early 90’s and spent a year as a SCUBA instructor before leaving to work and travel extensively around the globe. JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists the captain with administrative and safety duties, arranges regular safety drills, maintains deck equipment and inventories, organizes the stowage of the yacht for sea, manages the deck crew and maintains crew discipline. The first officer possesses boat handling skills, watch keeping and navigational skills and has the capability to step in for the captain in his absence. Responsible for all deck operations, water sports and tenders.

While studying Exercise Science and managing a yoga studio in Halifax, she became instantly attracted to the yachting industry and upon graduating university in 2013 she was offered the job to join the Solaia crew for an Atlantic crossing. Katrina spent the next two and a half years onboard Solaia as a full time crew member nicely integrating her passions for health and fitness leading yoga and exercises for guests. She has a strong background in fine-dining including working at Montreal's finest restaurants and almost ten years in the hospitality industry.

Mark then studied diesel mechanics for 2 years and worked as a mechanic in a shipyard for 5 years which led him to becoming a marine engineer aboard. Since 2004 he has worked on yachts, oil supply vessels, drill ships and fishing vessels in the Bering Sea.

Viktor worked for couple of years in yachting, then onboard several ferries around the UK, and for a ship management company in Monaco. However, Viktor missed the yachting environment, and now he is back!
